Magic
Each creature in this world is born inheriting one of the four elements - fire, water, earth orwind. But most creatures aren't aware of their element and in the ages of peace, the common knowledge about the elemental magic got almost lost and forgotten. Being able to use this is seen as unusual, so these animals are treated as threats and unwanted guests by "regular" folk.
Element carriers
Animals that are able to use their elemental magic are called "element carriers", or "carriers" in short.
Element carriers can withstand magic better than regular animals. For example, getting hit by fire wouldn't instantly burn and eventually kill a carrier. The magic has greater effect on regulars though, since they can barely defend themselves against it. Each element is weaker to one and stronger to another one. Fire beats wind, wind beats earth, earth beats water, water beats fire. |
Elemental powers can be combined to create stroger magic and more complex spells, be it for destructive purposes, transportation etc.
Combined magic obviously needs two carriers to create a spell. This can only be done by two with a deep conection, usually these are siblings or mates.
Element carriers don't have a mark or anything that signs them as such. In most cases their element breaks out of them when they're in a very intense situation, be it a traumatic one or something else that causes strong emotions. Unprepared carriers will most likely loose control and fall into insanity. They're then a severe threat to everyone nearby, including themselves.

Some animals can even do more than "only" cotrol and manipulate their specific element. There are different classes with more special abilties.
Caster
"Caster" are carriers who can manipulate their element so that they can form weapons out of it. Those can be blades, spears, etc. It's yet unknown, where they got the knowledge about these type of weapons.
These weapons are very powerful and dangerous for any opponent, but casting and holding the magic in place does weaken the carrier greatly. So they usually only use these powers as a last resort. Known casters: Kiriko |
Destructor
Some carriers inherit a much stronger and more powerful version of their element. They are called "destructor", as their powers led to major destruction in the past. This is also one of the main reasons element carriers in general are feared by regulars. Even a slight hit by a destructors elemental attack can be fatal. Some even barely damage the body outside, but cause severe internal damages.
Their elemental powers feature an unnatrual color than the usual element. Destructors feature a red mark somewhere on their body when they activate or use their powers. Yet some just make it appear only to look intimidating. Know destructors: Akuma, Taleero |
Fox Magic
Foxes are relatively rare. This results in them keeping a status as mythical creatures in some areas. So unlike other animals that can use magic, they aren't seen as dangerous, and their use of magic is seen as "normal".
Their element is almost always fire. Exceptions are very unlikely to happen, it's even unknown if there actually had been such a case.
